The ideal candidate will have a consumer product-focused background and be eager to shape the future of our user’s experience, including our invitation and greeting card creation experiences. We are a Product-led organization, so our UX team works in partnership with Product Managers to imagine, develop, and bring to market new products and features, co-owning critical parts of Evite’s platform. We are highly agile and data-driven, so you have the technical expertise to work collaboratively with developers and data/analytics teams to impact the full suite of Evite products, used by tens of millions of hosts and guests each year. Responsibilities:
Primary:
- Collaborate and work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define product requirements and goals, establishing a shared vision.
- Lead design discovery by creating flow diagrams, customer journey maps, mental models, and personas.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs with detailed specifications for our engineers to build.
- Lead user research (interviews and usability testing) to gather insights about user needs, behaviors, and pain points with the ability to cater testing as needed (from informal to fromal)
- Advocate for user-centered design principles, creative quality in our work and promote a culture of empathy and customer-centricity within the organization.
- Stay updated with industry trends, competitors, emerging technologies, and design best practices to drive innovation in UX design.
- Act as a role model, mentor, and motivator for individual contributors and UX managers alike, investing in developing talent and collaboration..
- Bring deep expertise in UX design across UX disciplines (frameworks, interaction models, prototypes, research, operations, language)
- Frame designs in the context of the broader customer experience and be willing to go deep into the details.
- Present design work to partners and executive leadership for review, feedback, and sign-off and can coach the team to do the same
- Prioritize using data to inform your decisions, weigh the impact and tradeoffs of decisions, and seek input where needed to drive alignment.
- Navigate comfortably from ambiguity to clarity, drawing upon your expertise and design process to create structure. Proactively look ahead and help anticipate next steps.
- Develop processes that drive quality and efficiency to help designers accomplish efficiently.
Preferred Requirements:
- 8+ years proven experience as a UX designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design projects and UX thinking.
- Proficiency in Figma or equivalent design software (Sketch, Adobe XD)
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive designs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with front-end development concepts and the ability to collaborate closely with developers.
- Experience with conducting user research, usability testing, and applying data-driven insights to design decisions.
- Experience leading a team.
The compensation range for this role is $180-220K.
