Product Designer

Location: Glendale, CA

Type: Full Time

Min. Experience: Mid Level

Evite is seeking a Product Designer to join our dynamic and growing marketing team. Our ideal candidate cares deeply about designing consumer-centric digital products; is driven by an intense curiosity, and thrives in a highly iterative and collaborative environment. In this position, you’ll help define the product UI design for a range of Evite products across the screens, formats, and technologies used by millions of Evite hosts and guests each year. You’ll have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with product and technology to create beautifully crafted digital experiences, products, and product features. The Product Designer role is based in Los Angeles, and reports to the Design Director.

Core Capabilities

  • You’re able to synthesize complex UX problems and deliver highly refined UI design solutions.
  • You’re never satisfied with the first idea, and work iteratively on concepts, prototypes, and detailed UI informed by user research, marketplace and behavior trends, and your best ideas.
  • You understand that a given design solution may work well on mobile web but not within native apps, and are well versed in the specific capabilities and constraints of each platform.

Must-Have Capabilities

  • Communication – You are a clear, succinct and precise communicator (verbal and written) in 1:1 interactions, when working in teams, and in front of larger audiences. Your communications provide critical context, increase transparency, and elevate mindsets.
  • Critical thinking – You understand how to use (and not use) data to inform your decision-making. You can come up with effective plans to achieve your objectives. No matter what role you have, you can imagine a better future and define a clear path to get there that overcomes complexity, barriers and constraints.
  • Cultural fit - Your positive mindset energizes an organization. You attack thorny problems and demonstrate the courage to drive or be part of change. You role-model behavior in your everyday work - as an individual, working in teams and with the company overall.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Design highly refined, consumer-centric UI solutions based upon product strategy and customer insights.
  • Effectively communicate your ideas and design rationale, both verbally and visually.
  • Apply industry knowledge, user-insights, data and analytics, and best practices to inform design decisions.
  • Obsess on the details and getting it right.
  • Experience designing across multiple screen types (Desktop, Mobile Web, native apps, etc.)
  • A self-starter who craves a fast-paced, high-integrity, low hand-holding environment (you’ll always be supported when needed)
  • A natural collaborator who feels at home within interdisciplinary teams tasked with creating great products.
  • Inspire customers and teammates by consistently raising the design bar.
  • Expert level knowledge of design software and prototyping tools.
  • Fluency in graphic design, typography, and photography.
  • BFA/BA in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2-3 years experience in consumer-centric Product UI Design
