Evite, the world’s leading digital invitation platform, is seeking a passionate and experienced Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles and contribute to our mission of bringing people together to celebrate their most important life moments.  We are looking for someone with strong backend experience to fill this role.

We are currently working remotely, but plan to transition to a hybrid 2 days remote and 3 days in office schedule as soon as soon as we can get together indoors without masks. . We are also open to fully remote candidates and to candidates not located in the LA area.

Our platform supports a million people per day who use our web and mobile applications to help throw and attend parties.  To deliver on our mission to help people party you will need solid computer science fundamentals, experience with a Python based web framework like Django or Flask, experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud or AWS), and some experience with frontend web technologies (Javascript, HTML, CSS, React).  Building websites is easy.  Building a platform at this scale and releasing new multi-platform features with zero downtime multiple times a week is hard.  If you haven’t done it before we can show you how, and our ideal candidate will have things to teach us as well.

We are a small team and we are often called on to use technologies that we haven’t used before.  Being a quick learner with a growth mindset is critical.

You will be developing world-class mobile web and desktop experiences using Python, Javascript, HTML/CSS, and React.  You will be working cross functionally with Product and Design teams integrated into our agile “pods”.

The candidate must possess communication skills, critical thinking capabilities, and be a cultural fit. Our ideal candidate should have strong communication that allows them to translate complex findings to all stakeholders. This individual should be driven by an inquisitive curiosity to learn, and can pick up new knowledge and skills independently.   • Build new capabilities into our web platform that is be used by a million people per day while maintaining reliability, scalability, and code quality.

  • Collaborate with our product team and UX/UI designers for technical guidance in building elegant and deceptively simple experiences

  • Participate in development of unit tests and code reviews

  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex system issues

  • Participate in our Agile Scrum process including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives


Preferred Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of professional programming experience

  • Experience with NoSQL data-stores, task queues, and 

  • Demonstrated experience with multiple frontend JS frameworks (React, MobX, Redux, Vue, Angular etc.)

  • Proficient working with a Unix/Linux operating system

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Desire to expand your skill sets and learn new technologies

  • Relentless dedication and discipline in building world-class enduring software

  • BA/BS, or equivalent experience

  • Experience with machine learning is a plus
